The
Ontario Pesticide Education Program (OPEP) has been providing pesticide
safety education and training for Ontario farmers since 1987 through the
Grower Pesticide Safety Course. Program policies are set by the OPEP Steering
Committee with representatives from:
• AGCare,
Agricultural Groups Concerned about Resources and the Environment (representing
45,000 Ontario farmers).
• Ontario Agri Business Association (representing Ontario pesticide vendors).
• Crop Protection Institute, Ontario Chapter.
(representing Ontario pesticide manufacturers and distributors).
• Ontario Ministry of the Environment.
• Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
• Ridgetown College, University of Guelph.
• University of Guelph.
• Ontario Agri Business Association (representing Ontario pesticide vendors).
